ARIZONA CLIMBING
WELCOME TO QUEEN CREEK CANYON
Bighorn Mountain Guides is excited to announce that we are now operating in Arizona!
Queen Creek Canyon is 50 minutes from Mesa Gateway airport, and has the Phoenix area's most accessible and highest density of moderate sport climbs, beautiful crack climbs and engaging multi-pitch climbs.
Experience amazing adventures in the heart of the Sonoran desert.
Queen Creek Canyon has it all
Whether you are looking to single pitch, multi-pitch, sport climb or tick some traditional routes, there is something in Queen Creek for everyone.
The canyon is split into two main climbing areas. Atlantis is the more beginner-friendly of the two, with plenty of routes that even the “greenest" of guests can approach. It also has the area's multi-pitch climbs, allowing visitors to warm up on its plentiful moderate single-pitch routes, then quest up the nearby spires for pitch after pitch of vertical adventure.
The Pond, so named for its water feature, is better suited to advanced climbers. Though there are easier climbs here, most are longer, near-vertical routes with cryptic sequences, as alluded to in the name of one of the area’s classic climbs “Pocket Puzzle.” For those who can climb 5.10 and 5.11, the Pond really shines.

Make it stand out
Introducing Apache Leap
Looking for a bigger day out? Apache Leap has some of the best multi-pitch sport climbing in the greater Phoenix area. This area offers multi-pitch romps and single-pitch test pieces that will satisfy any climber’s appetite for challenge. Bighorn Mountain Guides is currently the only service permitted to guide on these rocks, and with close ties to the community of developers who established these awesome routes, no one is better suited to create an amazing experience for their clients.
