Plan Your Trip

Bighorn Mountain Guides offers guided rock climbing, mountaineering, and hiking adventures to all ability levels from June 1 to September 20 in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. We offer guided rock climbing in Arizona’s Queen Creek Canyon from November 15 to March 7. All guided adventures are tailored to meet your goals and abilities!

Courses Offered

Bighorn Mountain Guides offers several different courses. Day courses are broken up into two rates, half day (4-hour) or full day (8-hour).

  • Intro to Climbing: This is our most popular course. It covers basic knots, equipment overview, top rope climbing, Leave No Trace ethics, and more.

  • Traditional Climbing: We offer an intro level crack jamming and traditional (AKA "trad") climbing course. Over the course of two days, clients will learn about traditional gear, and how to place it, anchor systems, and how to crack climb.

  • Lead Sport Climbing: If you are ready to take your face climbing game to the next level we off an intro to lead climbing course on easier sport routes. You will learn about the gear necessary for lead climbing a sport route, how to properly clip a quickdraw, how to break down an anchor, and much more.

  • Rappelling: this course can be added onto any other course if you choose the full day session or you can choose to spend a half-day learning how to build rappel anchors off trees, review the gear needed to rappel, and proper techniques for rappelling.
